EDINBURG – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros women's soccer team played the Prairie View A&M University Panthers to a 2-2 double overtime draw on Friday at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
 
Freshman 
Kelzy Jepsen led the Vaqueros (1-1-1) with a career-high two assists, setting up a pass from freshman 
Diandra Aliaga to sophomore 
Andreya Barrera for the first goal at 5:34, and finding junior 
Elisa Espino for the go-ahead goal at 25:13. They were Barrera's second goal, Aliaga's second assist and Espino's first goal of the season.
 
Kalisha Bond tied the match for the Panthers (0-1-1) twice, first at 22:46 off a steal by 
Alicia Cooper that led to a cross from 
Ashley Virgil, and then at 79:41 on passes by Virgil and 
Courtney Aleman.
 
Sophomore Harlingen South alum 
Erica Gonzalez (0-1-1) made three saves for the Vaqueros while 
Dominique Dillon (0-1-1) made seven saves for the Panthers.
 
The Vaqueros outshot the Panthers 22-9, including 3-0 in the overtime period, and 9-5 on goal.
 
The Vaqueros are back in action on Friday at 7 p.m. when they visit Mississippi Valley State.
