AUSTIN – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's soccer team became just the second team to take No. 21 Texas to overtime this season in a 1-0 loss on Friday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
 
UTRGV's (3-3-2) defense stood strong throughout the match, enduring 28 shots, including seven on goal, and 12 corner kicks before allowing 
Cyera Hintzen's game-winning goal off a give and go with 
Cydney Billups at 97:13.
 
Sophomore 
Kinga Szemik (1-2-1) finished with six saves.
 
UTRGV finished with five shots, including three on goal, and one corner kick.
 
Senior 
Andreya Barrera had an opportunity on net at 15:48 and then sophomore 
Sarah Bonney and junior 
Diandra Aliaga each had shots on goal in the final 20 minutes, but Texas (8-0-0) goalkeeper 
Nicole Curry (8-0-0) made all three saves.
 
UTRGV is back in action on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Incarnate Word at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex. Fans will receive one free ticket to every Sunday home soccer match with the purchase of a ticket of equal or greater value, courtesy of
