Swimming & Diving Ready for Home Opener against Incarnate Word

RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros swimming & diving program is ready for their first home meet of the 2025-26 season as they welcome Incarnate Word (UIW) to the City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium Saturday.

The Vaqueros are fresh off a dominant performance in their season opener at UT Permian Basin, winning all 16 events for a final score of 215-75. Additionally, sophomore Manou Meulebeek qualified for the NCAA Zone "D" Diving Championships in the 3-meter springboard after securing a program record 293.25.

This will be the second overall meeting between UTRGV and UIW as UIW claimed a 193-94 victory last season at the City of Pharr-PSJA Natatorium. However, this season, the Vaqueros and Cardinals will meet as conference foes after UTRGV joined the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation prior to the 2025-26 season.

The meet starts at 11 a.m. and will follow a rolling schedule with the women competing prior to the men in each event. The meet is free and open to the public. Complimentary admission can obtained for all home UTRGV swimming & diving meets by getting a UTRGV Swimming & Diving Pass here.
